Join our team as a Safety and Security Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and visitors. You'll provide proactive security oversight, conduct regular safety audits, and coordinate with relevant authorities when necessary. This role involves coaching employees on safety practices, managing emergency situations, and maintaining a welcoming security presence.

What you will do?:
- Actively engage with employees and visitors to ensure a safe and positive environment, while consistently monitoring the property to address any potential safety concerns

Prepare detailed and comprehensive incident and investigation reports, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in documenting all relevant information

Deliver proactive security oversight and protection for our team, property, and data, ensuring a secure workplace for everyone

Perform bag checks for departing employees as needed, ensuring the process is respectful and efficient

Conduct regular safety audits and share findings with the relevant leadership to enhance our safety protocols

Work closely with law enforcement when necessary, staying informed about any incidents in the vicinity to keep our team safe

Maintain accurate visitor logs and manage solicitor access to the building, ensuring our space remains secure

Assist leadership in opening and closing the facility, ensuring all security measures are in place

Regularly check cameras, fire detection, and suppression systems to maintain a safe workplace environment

Perform routine safety checks on employees and equipment, reporting any unusual activity to management, including ensuring proper lifting techniques and use of PPE

Provide guidance and training to distribution center employees on safety and security practices, fostering a culture of safety

Help manage personal safety and security issues, de-escalate confrontations verbally, and offer leadership during emergencies following established procedures

Promptly respond to, report, and document any safety and security incidents on the property

Support the review and investigation of safety and security concerns, ensuring timely and thorough follow-up

Handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and sound judgment

Engage in safety and shrink committees and daily operations meetings, leading the team during emergency situations

Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support the safety and security of our team and facility
What you bring to the table!:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
-
At least 2+ years of experience in warehouse safety, security, or loss prevention, preferred

Ability to write detailed comprehensive incident and investigation reports, communicating clearly and concisely in a timely manner

Familiarity with OSHA regulations

Certification in relevant safety or loss prevention programs is a plus

Ability to stand, walk, and move around the premises for extended periods, lift/move up to 75 pounds, and maintain physical fitness for inspections and emergency responses

Be prepared to work in high temperatures in the distribution center during summer months and tolerate loud noise levels in some areas

Strong understanding of safety regulations and loss prevention best practices, excellent observation skills, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and commitment to staying current with the company's safety program

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Wage: Starting at $20.00 per hour
