The PBX Operator provides communication services between the Hospital and the general public. He/she operates a radio paging system to relay incoming/outgoing messages between physicians, nurse stations, and patients. It is the PBX Operator's responsibility to provide immediate communication for the various codes in order that life saving measures will be accomplished immediately. The PBX Operator provides immediate notification to proper Hospital personnel in the event of any type disaster.
Requirements:
High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent
Previous switchboard experience in a hospital or 911 operator or answering service center experience preferred.

Multiple position computerized telephone switchboard, radio-pager, in-house P.A. system, alarm monitor board,
Basic knowledge of Microsoft word and windows, ability to type 50-60 words/minute.
Visual, hearing, and speech acuity necessary from communication purposes. Must be able to sit for 8 hours per shift
