ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
Ø Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
Ø Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the organization.
Ø Apply Total Quality Management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
Ø Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Ø Work with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts for company use.
Ø Design and implement quality control training program to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
Ø Investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality
Ø Establish, monitor and track the corrective/preventive action system for all internally and externally identified issues.
Ø Monitor and analyze the product/component quality and reliability, solve identified problems by leading cross functional team activities throughout resolution process.
Ø Conduct programs of simple and complex process development for improving product quality, productivity and cost, such as Six Sigma, statistical process control, value analysis, FMEA, quality at the source and lean principles.
Ø Lead problem-solving activities as required for customer or internal issues.
Ø Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data; making recommendations.
Ø Provide customer feedback to production areas for review and implementation of continuous improvement activities.
Ø Develop, install, and maintain inspection and test procedures for QA department.
Ø Administer training programs on inspection techniques and product requirements to other employees, inspectors, auditors and technicians.
Ø Assist in vendor surveillance and take lead role in audit process.
Ø Determine and perform source surveillance of purchased materials and finished parts.
Ø Support New Product Development (APQP) activities by providing input to quality related deliverables supporting Advanced Quality Planning
Ø Support the quality system for ISO/IATF requirements for all product lines and arrange/participate in the internal quality system audit to meet the established schedules.
Ø Cooperate with other departments to implement the procedures/work instructions and issue the updated procedures in a timely fashion
Ø Drive the PPAP Process for submissions and coordinate measurement and support activities with Quality Tech and Production to meet timelines
Ø Support with Customer Portals for PPAP/APQP/8D/Specs, etc.
Ø Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervise 3 to 4 employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include include interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints, and resolve problems. Utilize Quality Engineers to direct Qa Technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Ø 5 plus years of Engineering experience.
Ø Strong problem-solving skill set.
Ø ASQ Certifications preferred (CQE, CSSBB or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred).
Ø Project management, strong leadership, interpersonal communication skills, customer satisfaction focused, team oriented, results driven, and strong computer skills.
Ø Widespread knowledge in Root Cause Analysis
Ø Extensive PPAP experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university in Engineering or Management/Business related degree and five to 10 years experience as a Quality Manager. Once initially qualified, the employee’s continuing competency is appraised during the 90-day
