The nurse informaticist (NI) functions as a knowledgeable practitioner, consultant, educator, and evaluator to maintain and improve system services. As a nurse informaticist, you are responsible for leading the department through the design of clinical processes, solutions, technology workflow and successful adoption that will lead to achieved value, by participating in efforts which meet departmental needs in adherence with the guidelines aligned with the organization strategy. The nurse informaticist will manage ongoing relationships with departments, providing system management and clinical subject matter expertise, focusing on department success in utilizing technology solutions. The nurse informaticist will assist in change management, help identify opportunities for improvement, and is accountable for achieving the project targeted outcomes. As the nurse informaticist, you will provide informatics guidance and act as a liaison between the clinical departments and IT, leveraging both clinical and informatics knowledge to provide innovative solutions. You will establish trusted relationships with department leaders. The nurse informaticist will collaborate across teams to plan and ensure appropriate communication and documentation is completed to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and services, to support high-quality clinical workflows and application development. The nurse informaticist will evaluate clinical utilization and workflow, including patient safety and clinical outcomes; research, analyze and make recommendations for clinical application workflow improvements.
