We are currently in search of a Senior Accounting Manager for Affordable Housing Development. The position is an In-person position and is located in Brooklyn, NY. This role is a temporary to permanent opportunity with an anticipated salary of $65,000-$75,000.

Hourly: $31.00-$37.00/hr

As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will report directly to the CEO, overseeing AP/AR, managing Yardi and FUNDEZ software, preparing for audits, assisting with city grants, and supervising two specialists. You’ll collaborate with Capital One and work closely with the CEO, COO, and property management team.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit accounting.
- Strong background in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Proficient in Yardi and FUNDEZ software.
- Experience in general ledger management and journal entries.
- Familiarity with affordable housing finance and related accounting practices.
- Experience in engaging with bankers, partners, and external auditors.
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor a small team.
- Capability to work effectively with executive leadership and consultants.
How You Will Spend Your Day:
- Oversee AP/AR processes, manage GL and journal entries, and ensure data accuracy across Yardi and FUNDEZ software.
- Prepare for audits, ensure financial compliance, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Assist in preparing city grant applications, focusing on securing reimbursements for eligible expenses.
- Supervise two specialists (AP and AR), provide guidance, and manage performance.
- Liaise with Capital One and other partners, and collaborate with the CEO, COO, and property management office.
