LaCore Logistics is a contract manufacturer of dietary supplements, sports nutrition and personal care products. We specialize in product development and formulation in a start of the art facility. Our facilities are modern and in compliance with highest standards in the industry, including cGMP. We are looking to hire a detail-oriented, motivated team player to add to our Maintenance team.
SUMMARY:
The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for line coverage in the assigned area utilizing production and maintenance processes and tools. Under the direction of production and maintenance supervision this position will be required to safely operate assigned equipment and maintain all line equipment to produce product right first time. This person will mentor, and coach machine operators as needed on various maintenance and operational aspects to master their technical understanding of equipment and process controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical concerns of the equipment, maintain and improve integrity and performance of all equipment, and complete scheduled work orders.
· Setup, start-up, adjust, and operation of equipment; proper shutdown and changeover as required by company standards and to minimize downtime.
· PLC Programming and Troubleshooting: Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems to ensure proper functionality of automated equipment. Analyze and interpret ladder logic diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications. Modify existing PLC programs to optimize performance and address issues.
· Utilizing Maintenance Windows; perform preventive maintenance inspections and corrective work orders on all focus line equipment preventing mechanical and/or electrical breakdowns.
· Maintain ownership of assigned line(s) equipment; may operate and adjust any packing equipment in the area; will react to machinery breakdowns and equipment problems in a proficient and positive manner.
· Ensures product safety, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company standards.
· Perform all mandatory quality testing/checks and complete all related documentation and paperwork for department operations: Quality, Safety, etc.
· Candidate must be able to train self/others in mechanical skills, mechanical repairs and overhauls, maintenance systems, computer skills; new technologies in preventive/predictive maintenance, problem solving/troubleshooting, etc.
· Must be able to communicate and coach team members regarding mechanical tasks in a professional manner.
· Work with the team to optimize product/material sequencing to minimize changeover time.
· Communicate and coordinate with Maintenance and Production Leadership on any maintenance activities required on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
· Communicate with other line technicians, as necessary, to ensure coordination of all maintenance efforts on assigned equipment and effectively operate as part of a team.
· Maintain a good working relationship with all employees.
· Conform to LACORE Nutraceuticals policy and procedures including, but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Lock Out/Tag Out, HACCP check points, Quality Standards, Fall Protection, Hot Work, OSHA Regulations, and all others.
· Report any food safety and/or food quality related issues including unsafe acts/conditions to management immediately.
· Using Good Documentation Practices (GDP), ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
· Adhere to all Company Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to produce a quality good that can be safely delivered to our customers.
· Follow all required work safety practices. This would include wearing all the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
· Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
This position covers the McKinney and Sherman location.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Must be able to operate, maintain and provide quality inspections on all equipment in assigned area.
· Strong understanding of PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic) and PLC hardware. Experience with various PLC platforms, such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric, is advantageous.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
· Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Must be able to work in a wet/dry environment where you are exposed to sensitive food ingredients and allergens.
· Work well in a face paced and always changing manufacturing environment.
· Willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
· Required to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background, and criminal Checks).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· 6 + years related experience required.
· Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Constantly (up to 8+ hrs.) stand, walk, and use hands/fingers throughout the shift.
· Frequently (up to 6 hrs.) reach above/below shoulder level, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl throughout the shift.
· Occasionally (up to 3 hrs.) push/pull or carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Environment
Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated facility. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an manufacturing environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend.
