Jr. Graphic Designer
Atlanta, GA
Progress Georgia seeks a creative professional with a passion for visual design to educate, combat misinformation and disinformation, and uplift progressive values through marketing, storytelling, art, and graphic design. Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of experience as a Graphic Designer or in a related field and are interested in developing accessible, authentic communications strategies to best connect with Georgia’s most impacted communities. This is a seasonal full-time position funded through December 2024. Creative professionals interested in developing their skill sets in political messaging, media, research, communication, and design while building their portfolios are strongly encouraged to apply.
Basic Qualifications:
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Resides full-time in Georgia
- Flexibility to work on some evenings and weekends
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar role
- A strong portfolio showcasing design skills
- Field of study in graphic design, marketing or any other communications-related field, political science, or journalism/media
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Adeptness with leading design software packages such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Canva
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to receive feedback to improve designs and creative content
- A political junkie
- A creative thinker and resourceful problem solver
We are seeking someone who:
- Is detail-oriented, specifically with projects that may require rapid response or quick turnaround;
- Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals;
- Strong creative and analytical skills;
- A forward thinker committed to social justice;
- Has a compelling portfolio of graphic design work;
- Experience in video editing and/or creating basic motion graphics is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Design clear, engaging graphic communications for print and web. This includes marketing/communication brochures, direct mail pieces, website and social media graphics, posters, flyers, direct-out-of-home marketing, and other marketing materials as needed.
- Execute design concepts from ideation to final production, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and deadlines
- Work collaboratively across multiple organizations and teams while incorporating feedback into deliverables.
- Work closely with the Digital Communications team to develop design concepts and content on all of Progress Georgia’s digital platforms, including the Progress Georgia website, newsletters, social media, and other online campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns.

Compensation, benefits, and other need-to-know information:
Reports to: Graphic Designer
Based in: Atlanta, GA (this is a hybrid position)
Start date: Immediately
Travel: Some in-state and national travel may be required
Salary: $4,750 per month (customary taxes withheld)
