Cullman Regional has openings for temporary full-time and part-time, day and night shift EKG Technicians. Working in the Emergency Department and as needed on the floors, technicians perform EKG tests for a variety of patients.
Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms.

Positions and applies electrodes as appropriate. Connects leads from electrocardiograph machine to electrodes on specified body areas.

Reviews patients’ record and instructs patients prior to procedures. Monitors patient during procedures and reports any abnormal findings.

Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.

Maintains EKG equipment and supplies.
Requirements:

A high school diploma or GED, preferred. Students, 17-years or older who are enrolled in a high school health program may be considered for these openings.

Prefer a minimum six-month training as an EKG Technician or Cardiovascular Technician preferably in a hospital setting. Student or completion of the following health programs of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Certified Patient Care Tech Program, Respiratory Care Program, Paramedic or Medical Assistant Program.
- Must be available to work a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per week.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, stand and walk for long periods of time, transport equipment to various locations in the hospital.

Motivated to learn and assists in other areas as time permits i.e., cleaning eq, replacing supplies.
