OPPORTUNITY: Support the Plant Controllers on the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordinate the month end closing, financial reporting, P&L and balance sheet accounting analysis and reconciliations, cost accounting, inventory, SOX, internal controls, policies, and leadership management deck. Assist in developing financial analysis, KPI metrics, operating and capital budgets and forecasts. Day-to-day responsibilities are as follows:
DIVISIONAL ACCOUNTING: Month end close, general accounting, financial reporting, fixed assets, inter-company accounting, expense analysis, accounting policies and procedures.
ACCOUNT ANALYSIS & RECONCILIATIONS: Complete income statement and balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations. Compare the actuals to budget and to forecasts understanding and explaining variances.
INTERNAL CONTROLS & AUDIT: Enhance all internal controls ensuring SOX compliance. Perform testing of internal controls (SOX/ASAT) to comply with corporate standards. Assist on external year end and internal audit with national firm.
COST ACCOUNTING & INVENTORY ACCOUNTING: Assist in labor cost standards and analysis, overhead management and make standard cost revisions. Monitor and manage RM, WIP and FG inventory. Participate in the physical inventory count and related accounting processes. Perform inventory-related internal controls. Establish and monitor standard cost for each product and monitor MRP reports - inventory, cost absorptions and variances. Manage and analyze standard costs, BOM and routers.
MANAGEMENT PRESENTATION REPORTS: Prepare monthly business review and Business Unit Staff meeting packages. Work cross functionally with operations management team.
KPI ANALYSIS, BUDGETS, & FORECASTS: Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting/budgeting. Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Key Financial Indicators (KFI) identifying operational processes inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
FIXED ASSETS & CAPITAL BUDGETS: Provide budget and project analysis for capital expenditure with payback and ROI analysis and post-implementation project review on completed projects that support continuous improvements supporting cost-saving objectives.
AD HOC PROJECTS: Assist on special projects for plant, division & corporate management. Provide supplemental financial data to the Controller, CFO, President and cross functional operations team as requested.
REQUIREMENTS: BS required; Seek 5+ years of experience gained in public accounting and/or combined with private industry preferably in manufacturing company. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, ERP (e.g., JDE, Oracle, SAP ideal). On site role commutable within CT and from MA. No relocation considered.
SALARY & REWARD: $105,000 to $125,000 plus bonus (depending on experience) plus excellent benefits, very generous 401k match.
