OrthoNebraska is adding a Pre-Admit Registered Nurse to our Pre/Post-Op team!

Department/Position Details/Duties:

Organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates elements of patient care

Reviews documents for completeness from PCP and Surgeon offices and performs follow through if documents are not complete

Serves as patient advocate and clinical resource person.

Collaborates with Medical Staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care

Demonstrates teamwork

Maintains awareness of updates and changes to Joint Commission standards and guidelines. Take responsibility for content.

Attends and participates in hospital safety in-services and projects and updates self on changes to Hospital Safety Goals.

Maintains knowledge of Environment of Care policy and procedures

Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.

Participate in performance improvement activities.

Attend and participate in department meetings.

Attend mandatory educational programs.
-
Follow established guidelines as stated in hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Skills Needed:

- Can identify age, cultural, language and learning specific needs of the patient.
- Must possess strong verbal communication, organizational, prioritization, team building, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Position Requirements:
Education:
-
Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Required Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state.
Experience:
-
Preferred Three (3) to four (4) years medical-surgical experience with demonstrated competence in patient assessment and teaching required.
- Orthopedic or Anesthesia Certification preferred.
Physical:

This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
