RESPONSIBILITIES: The staff position is responsible for processing, entering, and verifying employee time and processing payroll. The Finance Specialist-Payroll will also review tax filings, perform bi-weekly and annual pension reconciliations, and generate the required end of month payroll entries and accruals for posting into the General Ledger. This position will report to the Controller.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Process, review, and analyze employee payroll and wage updates as awarded/required.

Process online change of address requests and update W-4 information as needed.
- Process changes to direct deposit accounts.

Enter wage attachments/levies as ordered.

Process 3rd Party disbursements, FSA, 457, BBS, Pension and Union - for vendor and bank files.

Process employee expense reimbursements.

Review tax filings.

Perform quarterly tax reconciliations.

Pension Reconciliations - biweekly and annual.

Process payroll accruals and expense journal entries, for all divisions, to be forwarded to G/L Specialist for entry.

Generate statistical information for set intervals.

Generate and update reports for sick days, vacations, tool allowances, pre-payroll submission reports, and other reports as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma with a major course in business/accounting. Prefer advanced degree in business, accounting or related field.

A minimum of five years of experience in payroll processing.

Demonstrate skills in accounting, personal computer usage, typing, and the use of office machines.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs, to include ACCESS and Excel.

Ability to deal courteously and effectively with other LANTA employees, and departments within LANTA.

Must be able to read and comprehend the Collective Bargaining Agreement and apply principles and concepts to the job functions stated above.

Previous experience with iSolved payroll processing is preferred but not required.
This is an onsite, in person position. This position is not eligible for a hybrid or remote schedule.
