The Maintenance Manager is responsible to oversee equipment maintenance of all company assets. Responsibilities include maintaining a preventive maintenance program, supervising, coordinating and negotiating third party repair vendors while having the ability to make fact, cost-based repair decisions. The Maintenance Manager should have thorough knowledge of mechanical repairs to trucks and trailers, supervision experience and a strong demonstration of root cause decision making. Knowledge of computers, cost analysis, evaluating P & L performance, review and manage vendor repair estimates, inventory, and DOT Compliance
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Check for PMs, campaigns, and other repairs as needed
· Dispatch repairs – truck and trailer - as needed in alignment with company standards and vendor allocation
· Review status of down equipment and follow up on exceptions
· Review and update report for all equipment out of service outside vendor, as well as vehicle history
· Effectively communicate with Operations on outstanding action items and discuss areas of concern from a maintenance and equipment point of view
· Discuss equipment needs with operations and other stakeholders.
· Monitor all maintenance activity through Company generated reporting, including trends.
· Routinely evaluate performance of existing vendors. Ensure invoicing, pricing and delivery schedules are met as expected and agreed upon.
· Maintain a high level of service with drivers, vendors and customers.
· Create action plans and ensure formalized processes are used and appropriate personnel are copied on plan.
· Deliver consistent implementation of company policies and procedures.
· Review location cost, address areas of opportunities, and provide solutions and support.
· Review fleet performance and identify low performing fleets or vehicles, develop and execute action plan to improve performance.
Qualifications:
· At least 3-5 years of similar management experience
· Computer applications including MS Office and McLeod Enterprises preferred.
· Strong supervisory skills in dealing with people
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to create a team environment
· Strong internal & external customer service skills
· Ability to manage off site equipment and vendors
