Versar is seeking a full-time, Program Manager for our Geospatial & Digital Solution (GDS) Market Sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and performance of a multidisciplinary team of project managers and subject matter experts within our Customer Solutions Directorate. This team will be required to assist our clients develop solutions for their most pressing problems for topics including climate change adaptation and resiliency planning, renewable energy, and expeditionary construction phased support.
The ideal candidate will assist our customers by devising novel, innovative, and digital solutions that best meet the needs of our customers. This full-time program manager will be responsible for maintaining frequent and direct communication with our customers and leverage insights from these customer engagements to support the Vice President of the Market Sector to assist in growing GDS.
The candidate will work closely with the Vice President to set goals and strategy around employee development, recruiting, and lead the operational aspects of the practice. The appropriately qualified candidate will be able to demonstrate previous success in managing and delivering projects, proven leadership skills, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities:

The Program Manager is expected to work closely with our clients to become proficient with their policies, operations, and mission priorities to facilitate development of critical program goals, meet policy objectives, and generate project requirements.

Develops and maintains positive customer and client relationships to foster continued business and growth of the GDS portfolio.

Determines resource and execution strategies to support client program goals and project requirements.

Monitors resource allocation to maximize efficient and effective management of business unit program.

Works closely with the Vice President/senior management and financial managers to ensure accurate tracking of program financial health for ongoing financial forecasting, reporting and portfolio management.

Develops new approaches to advance digital techniques, tools, and business unit practices to improve processes and meet client expectations.

Promotes utilization, functionality, and efficiency on the team by providing leadership and support of process development, implementation and continuous improvement of tools, analysis, and organizational practice.

Maintains understanding of adjacent business unit initiatives for cross-functional alignment of capabilities to maximize collaborative opportunities.

Advocates and encourages “lessons learned” exchange and technology transfer within the business unit, organization, and client project teams.

Provides direct oversight of project managers to ensure projects are meeting client scope, schedule, and programmatic expectations.

Offers mentoring to individual team members with the goal of encouraging and maintaining unity, professional development, and overall team efficiency.

Supports production of proposals, statement of qualifications and other marketing / promotion materials to build the practice.

Evaluates opportunities within the market sector for generating potential pursuits to support and expand the GDS portfolio.

Participates, supports, and leads development of fee proposals, including scope determination, margin analysis, subconsultant coordination, and contract negotiations.

Leads the program team by facilitating communication and interaction between the organization, clients, and project stakeholders.

May perform the role of Project Manager on projects of strategic importance or in resolution of challenging technical and/or performance related issues.

Required Skills:

Experience leading highly diverse military and civilian organizations providing a variety of services including expeditionary engineering, climate resilience, and renewable energy.

Knowledgeable and experienced program manager that can assist customers in refining requirements to achieve critical objectives.

Experience preparing and providing presentations in public and project settings.

Experience writing technical proposals and project documentation.

Experience using a variety of computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Project.

Demonstrated and verifiable leadership experience.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with team members, customers, and consulting partners from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

Ability to translate complex engineering and technical solutions into easily understandable ideas for customers.
Required Experience

At least 10 years progressive leadership experience leading multidisciplinary teams in engineering and/or environmental fields

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field.

Experience applying risk assessment and mitigation strategies by leveraging skills, experience, and education to build a better, more resilient, and sustainable future for clients that have mission critical infrastructure, renewable energy, transportation and logistics, environment and natural resource, facility, and public safety business services.

History of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently
