HJF is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist I to coordinate and administer the organization's leave management programs. This role will also support other areas of Total Rewards (benefits, compensation & training). This position will be in support of Human Resources - Total Rewards department at the Home Office in Bethesda, MD.
The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day administration and compliance of the organization's leave, disability, and accommodation-related benefits and programs.

Respond to HR team, employee population, third-party vendors and/or external government agencies and regarding specific questions, required reporting, etc. Provide technical assistance related to assigned scope of work in accordance with applicable federal, state and/or local laws and regulations. Research and resolve problems of low to moderate difficulty in a timely, courteous, accurate and complete manner.

Support various periodic/annual processes. Prepare data and materials, update and help create program schedule and communication plan/materials and support internal stakeholder awareness efforts.

Prepare and maintain internal reports and metrics. Review and analyze internal data, identify trends and report anomalies. Prepare and file required external reports.

Process information into various HR systems including the company’s HRIS and recruiting system. May also include interfacing with vendor systems.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Industrial & Labor Relations, or related field of study is required.

Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General understanding of U.S. Federal, State and local paid/unpaid leave of absence and disability laws & regulations.

Excellent attention to detail, organization and priority-setting skills with the ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Strong communication, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

High level of customer service skills required with a focus on relationship management and customer satisfaction. Must be proactive with the ability to partner and work effectively in a team environment.

Required to regularly exercise professional judgment and discretion including when communicating with employees, management, and government/military customers.

Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including familiarity with absence management tools, benefits and compensation databases, and HRIS software. Experience with UKG or Oracle Fusion preferred.
Work Environment

This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
