Position Overview:
Healthy Start Health Promotion Coordinator will support the implementation and management of the Healthy Start initiative within Harris County Public Health (HCPH). Under the direct supervision of the Health Promotion Manager, this role is responsible for supporting Harris County Public Health’s outreach activities and serves as the key liaison to educate, promote, and connect community members to all HCPH programs/services specifically on behalf of the Healthy Start Grant. This position will develop and support the implementation of evidence-based strategies that lead to improved maternal and infant health outcomes, while also completing in-office tasks/projects to support overall health promotion team objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Healthy Start program staff and other HCPH departments to promote coordinated and comprehensive approaches to improving maternal and infant health outcomes.
Serve as a liaison between key HCPH staff to fulfill the objectives for the Healthy Start Initiative and recommend changes to improve outreach and health promotion strategies.
Maintain knowledge/skills to educate, promote, and connect community members to all HCPH programs/services.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and organizations to create and sustain innovative partnerships that support the Health Start Initiative's goals.
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports.
Research emerging health promotion practices and strategies and make recommendations for program enhancement.
Create and deliver educational presentations/workshops on public health topics for diverse target audiences.
Other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in Public Health, or a related field.
Experience: -
One (1) year experience in health promotion or community outreach.
Licenses:-
Valid TX driver's license
