Summery:
Our company seeks a Senior Estimator to join our team. As the Senior Estimator, you will be integrated with: sales, project management, engineering, production, and finance. You will be responsible for formulating a detailed breakdown of the labor and material required for some of the most high-profile projects in the country. The estimates you prepare will be foundation for our projects.
Job Functions:
- Prepare estimates for casework & millwork projects.
- Meet and collaborate with contractors, architects, and owners during estimating. Seek to understand their unique requirements, providing senior-level insights and solutions.
- Explore architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to gain a deep understanding of project requirements.
- Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors. In addition, show creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing.
- Coordinate hand-off of awarded contracts to the Project Manager and operations team. Focusing on, project requirements, key success factors, and high-risk elements.
- Track, follow up and update all outstanding proposals.
- Identify opportunities with customers and positive trends to achieve revenue growth through profitable projects.
- Introduce innovative approaches to estimation, incorporating the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Incorporate feedback from Project Managers and Operations to continually improve bidding process.
- Additional functions assigned as business needs change.
Required Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience generating millwork & casework estimates for the commercial and residential sectors.
- Be able to estimate shop hours to complete a job: CNC, Edge Banding, Build, Finishing, etc. (This skillset is key for the role).
- 5+ years of utilizing software applications to develop estimates and change orders including Bluebeam and MS Office.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience soliciting vendor bids in an architectural or construction environment with strong knowledge of woodworking industry.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Working knowledge of AWI standards and millwork fabrication.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management, negotiating and written/verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in building positive partnerships and working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external teams.
- Proactive – looks for problems that could impede progress and takes responsibility for solving them.
- A strong desire to learn and be a part of a cohesive team while helping to grow this department.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in project/construction management or related field preferred.
- AutoCAD and/or Cabinet Vision experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
