Rehab Technician/Transport Aide Summary:
EPIC Rehabilitation and Nursing at White Plains is a BEAUTIFUL *5 Star* 160-bed NEW skilled nursing & rehabilitation center opened in 2020 in the heart of White Plains. Rehabilitation Technician/Transport Aide will assist with the transportation of resident to and from scheduled therapy appointments as directed by the treating therapist(s).

Rehabilitation Technician/Transport Aide will communicate with residents and staff in courteous, respectful and supportive manner, maintaining high standards of professionalism.

Rehabilitation Technician/Transport Aide will respond promptly to requests for assistance in a cooperative and enthusiastic manner.

Display flexibility when working with residents and staff.

Carry out delegated, selected patient-related tasks under the direct supervision of a therapist.

Provide additional physical help for patient transfer and safety needs.

Rehabilitation Technician/Transport Aide will set up and break down treatment areas.
Transport residents to and from scheduled therapy appointments safely and efficiently. -
Push/pull residents in wheelchairs for up to 80% of the shift, with wheelchair weights occasionally reaching up to 350 lbs.

Ensure residents’ safety and comfort during transportation.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the rehabilitation department’s physical environment and equipment. -
Responsible for maintenance and replenishment of daily needs of clean linen and other commonly used items.

Keep a record of equipment maintenance and cleaning schedules.

Complete assigned clerical tasks, such as computer data entry, photocopying, filing, answering the phone, and retrieving therapy-related documentation.

Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and patient progress.

Encourage and motivate residents to participate actively in their therapy sessions.

Responsible for setting up and breaking down of treatment areas.

Monitors the general cleanliness of the Rehab Department.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

One year of experience in a health care setting preferred.

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) preferred.

Basic computer skills.

Demonstrates good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff

Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped

Excellent customer service skills

Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents, families and staff

Treat residents and fellow staff with respect, dignity, and compassion
