Role Overview:
As an Energy Engineer, you will be a vital part of our Engineering Team, supporting Energy Audits and Retro-Commissioning tasks. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to sustainability will be key in achieving our goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Audits: Conduct ASHRAE Energy Audits, Water Audits, and Retro-Commissioning.
- Data Collection: Gather data on building and equipment operation parameters.
- Inventory Management: Conduct inventory counts and verify client-provided data.
- Documentation: Maintain spreadsheets, photo documentation, and project tracking tools.
- Preliminary Analysis: Develop a preliminary list of Energy, Water, and Retro-Commissioning Measures.
- Detailed Reporting: Write descriptions of existing conditions and observations for building systems.
- Utility Analysis: Conduct utility bill analyses and prepare pre-functional tests.
- Trend-Log Requests: Request and analyze BMS Trend-logs.
- Data Logger Installation: Assist with installing data loggers and analyzing the data.
- Recommendations: Make recommendations based on collected data and analysis.
- Calculations: Conduct calculations using spreadsheets and simulations as needed.
- Report Writing: Write detailed reports and present findings to clients.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team atmosphere.
- Detail-Oriented: Maintain a high level of attention to detail and organization.
- Continuous Learning: Show willingness to learn and adapt.
- Communication: Exhibit strong interpersonal, interviewing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and build quick rapport with customers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Experience in HVAC, lighting, energy efficiency, and site audits (additional training available).
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction, HVAC, and lighting terms and definitions.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word).

- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP)
- High-Performance Building Design Professional (HPBD)
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
- Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP)
- Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)
- Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA)
- Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP)
- Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP)
