Title: Senior Patient Relations Associate - $1500 Sign-on Bonus
Reports To: Patient Relations Coordinator

Position Overview:
· Manage daily flow of patient relations staff in all aspects of dental care and help keep a multi-provider practice running smoothly and efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
· Assist patients
o Check patients in for appointments, verify demographic and insurance information, update registration/medical forms as needed.
o Check patients out after appointments, collect copayments, sell products, present treatment plans, explain insurance benefits, discuss payment policies, schedule all necessary appointments (routine, treatment, emergency, new patient, etc.).
· Handle all types of incoming and outgoing phone calls
o Schedule appointments
o Answer treatment, billing, and insurance questions
o Make outbound calls to patients, vendors, and/or other clinics to coordinate patient care
· Support doctors and clinical staff
o Analyze clinical schedules for maximum production and efficiency
o Assist in clinical schedule changes when necessary
o Communicate with assigned clinical staff frequently to ensure daily operations run smoothly. Check patient x-ray eligibility.
o Assist in the training and onboarding process of new Patient Relations staff
o Closes business for the day; balance, deposit, reports
· Insurance & Financing
o Process insurance payments, claims, and appeals
o Handle preauthorizations
o Process CareCredit and Wells Fargo payments
o Enter new insurance policies
· Maintain patient records/documentation
o Make detailed notes when discussing treatment planning, payment arrangements, patient concerns, etc.
o Process all types of incoming and outgoing correspondence via email, fax, and mail
o Maintain patient confidentiality as directed by HIPAA laws
o New patient referral thank-yous
Skills and Abilities Required:
· Proven leadership experience within a dental office setting.
· Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills between co-workers, providers, patients, and affiliates.
· Complete tasks efficiently and error free with attention to detail, including phone conversations and in-person interactions.
· Perform daily functions using Desco, Dexis, Office 365, and office equipment.
· Preferred: Knowledgeable in most aspects of dentistry, including dental terminology, scheduling based on flow of specified appointment type, treatment planning, cost of treatment and insurance benefits.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Required: Dental Experience
- Required: Insurance Experiene
· Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Required: At least 1 year of customer service experience.
· Preferred: At least 1 year of prior leadership experience in the dental or healthcare field.
Physical Requirements:
· Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.
· Push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
