JOB DESCRIPTION
HVAC Lead is responsible for maintaining an open, positive, and professional line of communication with customers, vendors, general contractors, internal customers, and trade partners. The Lead is also responsible for maintains a safe working environment compliant with government regulatory guidelines and RMC Safety systems. This position is onsite and requires out-of-state travel at times.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (LIST IS NOT INCLUSIVE)
- Supervise crew.
- Should be able to perform with little supervision from Foreman.
- Installation of sheet metal duct and related equipment from start to finish.
- Understand plans, specifications and scopes of work, layout and measuring of duct systems.
- Experience with installation of commercial HVAC systems, including AHUs, RTUs, knowledge of RTU's, split systems, VRF systems, fans, and related components.
- Ability to perform equipment start-ups.
- Problem solving with minimal supervision.
- Ordering materials/duct fabrication lists.
- Meet construction schedules/deadlines.
- Complete scheduling lookaheads and provide progress report documentation.
- Follow and adhere to the safety rules and regulations appropriate to various projects.
- Operate various power and hand tools as needed.
- Ability to pre-plan and develop material lists for the project.
- Organize project documentation, jobsite materials, company tools.
- Train apprentices.
- Operate scissor lifts, forklifts, Lulls, and boom lifts etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Know relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems.
- Installation of HVAC materials, equipment, and appropriately matched systems.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other trades.
- Must have team building skills.

- Must have knowledge of air duct distribution systems, commercial, and industrial.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
- 3 plus years of experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Use hand (s) and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
- Reach with hand (s) and arm (s).
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.
