A Managing Editor or Executive Editor is wanted to plan, assign, and develop timely, relevant and accurate content for a medical website and print medical news magazine geared for physicians who specialize in nephrology. The successful candidate is an experienced editor/journalist who has excellent editorial judgment; ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced news team environment; and ability to develop/strengthen relationships with key opinion leaders. Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or a related field; excellent writing and editing skills; knowledge of AP and AMA styles; and a minimum of 5 years of newswriting and/or publication management experience (medical writing/editing experience preferred). Travel is required 4-5 times per year to cover national medical meetings, including some weekends.
The annual base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $80,000. Placement within this range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, knowledge, skills, education, years and level of experience, and equity with internal team members.
