AFM Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator
The American Film Market® (AFM®), the industry’s leading global film & TV market celebrating its 45th edition this November, is seeking a qualified Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator. This temporary position will work as part of the Communications team which handles all publicity and Social Media leading up to the 2024 AFM taking place November 5-10 in Las Vegas.
This is a full-time temporary position that runs late July – Nov. 5. Applicants must currently reside in the Los Angeles Area. In office work is required.
About the Job:
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will manage our social media channels, support AFM communications campaigns, and collaborate on various PR and marketing initiatives for the next 3+ months. This role offers exposure to social media and digital marketing, PR, content creation, event planning and brand management.
Responsibilities Include:
- Involved in the planning and execution of engagement enhancing social media campaigns for AFM’s various audience segment
- Responsible for daily social media functions, including creating, scheduling and posting compelling content across Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, assist with content ideation, event planning, and other department projects
- Develop content calendars and track metrics
- Coordinate with third-party partners to manage social media collaborations
- Foster meaningful connections with followers by actively responding to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely manner
- Increases the number of followers on all channels by following and engaging with AFM participants and potential attendees
- Review industry Trades daily for media clips on AFM
- Update and maintain AFM Press lists and calendars
- Draft / design AFM-related content, including items for newsletters, instructions, guides and other attendee communications
- Research industry decisionmakers and media outlets
- Assist with other ongoing projects and assignments as needed
- General administrative and clerical duties
Qualifications Include:
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and content creation skills are essential
- Excellent communication and service-oriented skills
- Outstanding attention to detail, organization and planning/time management abilities
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suites, Google Suite, Canva, and other photo and video-editing software
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working in Social Media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and / or Public Relations
- Outstanding attention to detail, organization and planning/time management abilities
- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and remain calm under pressure
- Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
