JFCS' Our Closet In Your Neighborhood (OCIYN) program is looking to have an enthusiastic individual join the team in order to provide service to individuals and families with basic needs. The OCIYN Program Coordinator is a crucial part of our mobile basic needs services that distribute food, clothing, and access to social services and benefits to individuals and families in need across the city. This position reports to the Program Manager and works in a team approach with our program associates to meet these needs.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Program Manager to coordinate and lead events with partners and volunteers
- Work closely with the host site contact(s) and Program Manager to arrange OCIYN visit details and logistics
- Ensure that the events run smoothly, including overseeing and training of volunteers, tracking data, delegating tasks, etc.
- Coordinate with Volunteer Coordinator for recruiting corporate and organization volunteer groups and individual volunteers in the warehouse and at pop-up events
- Ensure all equipment for the event is transported and set up appropriately
- Assist attendees with shopping needs at events
- Track program inventory and report needs to the Program Manager
- Input necessary data and filing reports for each event
- Assist with surveying of shoppers and partner sites for each event
- Work closely with the Program Manager to coordinate all activities at the warehouse
- Manage inventory and communicating needs to Program Manager
- Ensure that the warehouse is neat, clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Serve as contact person for clothing donation drop-offs at the warehouse
- Sort through new clothing donations for quality assurance and putting them away in their designated spaces
- Pack up inventory for all OCIYN events
- Packing emergency delivery bags
- Assist with Emergency Package Delivery Program, interacting with both individuals requesting clothing as well as partner agency contacts requesting clothing for their clients
- Lead individual and group volunteer clothing sorting events and ensuring that volunteers have a positive experience
- Provide service learnings for sorting events
- Assist with surveying of volunteers, emergency package recipients and agency partner contacts
- Input and track program data into program database
- Have a flexible schedule to be available for special occasions and events
- This position requires in-person work at the OCIYN warehouse and community events. Additional tasks as required for the needs of the program and as assigned by the program director

Requirements
- BA degree preferred; will consider Associates, or GED with relevant experience working with at risk populations in lieu of degree
- Previous experience working with people with varying degrees of need and risk
- Must be able to physically meet the requirements of the position:
- Ability to lift bins, boxes, and bags up to 40 pounds from the floor to counter/table and counter/table to above head
- Ability to assemble and set up tables, tents, and racks at pop-up events in collaboration with colleagues and volunteers
- Ability to be on your feet and walking for 4+ hours at a time at each event
- Employee must own a car, must have a safe driving record on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles in the state in which the employee is licensed to drive and provide a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance at time of employment. Employee must maintain a valid driver’s license and carry liability insurance as a condition of continued employment
Additional Requirements
- Must meet JFCS’s vaccination policies at hire and ongoing
- Must follow any/all COVID-19 and other related agency and CDC guidelines on safe and sanitary practices to ensure safety of all staff, volunteers, and shoppers at events and at the warehouse
- Must complete all background clearances as required by the program and pass child abuse and FBI clearances; will consider criminal record based on incident and timing
- Some Sundays may be required for special events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
