Maintenance Technician, Food Processing Plant
This is a position with limited supervision, to provide electrical, mechanical and building maintenance for Chalet Desserts, LLC. a production bakery in north Sacramento.
You would provide electrical, structural, plumbing, mechanical, and refrigeration maintenance services. Preferred knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, electromechanical, PLCs, pneumatic, conveyor systems, welding, fabrication and refrigeration.
Long Term Responsibilities:
- Making repairs to Commercial & Industrial mixing and baking production equipment. Single and Three Phase electrical. High and Low voltage systems, DC and AC controls, gear motors, direct drive and chain drive components. Make electrical repairs including changing lamps and ballasts. Install and remove electrical devices (i.e., switches, receptacles, and light fixtures). Install, remove and relocate electrical supply circuitry by installing conduit, conductors and making all terminations. Troubleshoot and repair or make recommendations for repair of all electrical system failures or malfunctions.
- Make structural repairs and fabrications. Knowledge of hand tools, welding and solder techniques and practices preferred.
- Monitor and maintain plumbing system including repairing or replacing sink faucets, supply lines, waste lines, disposals, urinals, and water heaters.
- Monitor pressure and temperature of mechanical systems, refrigeration and freezer equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D., completed (1) years of technical training classes preferred.
- Familiarity with 3 phase and single phase power systems and controls.
- Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and Gear motors.
- Basic PC skills and use and knowledge of hand tools.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet timelines.
- Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with all customers and co-workers.
Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:
- Continuously lift up to 50 pounds.
- Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and twisting.
- Intermittent use of hands and arms to grasp, push, pull and reach.
- Work is performed in a food production manufacturing setting in a 24/7 production environment. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places and low to moderately high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional work required on roof or exterior of buildings during inclement weather.
