Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Performing Construction Inspection services on projects that include elements primarily pertaining to full depth roadway rehabilitation, relocation and installation of new utilities
- Maintain facility operations through permanent and temporary traffic provisions during interim phases of construction.
- Construction of new elevated roadway decks including supporting foundations, piles/caissons and steel framing.
- Minor electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Some marine construction consisting of dredging and pier rehabilitation including fenders, supporting piles and concrete decks.
- Coordinating the advancement of such activities with direct supervisor and facility staff to ensure optimal progress in a manner as to least impact ongoing facility operations.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience inspecting progressively more difficult
- projects in the aeras of work listed above.
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety, and fall protection, confined space and permit required
- confined space entry and certification in work zone safety.
- Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Some night and weekend shifts may be
- required.
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
