As a Nurse Consultant Lead in the Acute and Home Care Licensure and Certification Section, the main responsibility is to supervise team members and coordinate survey activities to determine compliance levels with State and Federal regulations through the survey process.
Job responsibilities include:
Supervises clinical staff and /or non-clinical administrative staff.
Planning, developing, facilitating and evaluating the work of team members.
Assist with onboarding and participate in orientation and training of new staff, and maintain accountability among staff, establish acceptable levels of performance for staff to meet Agency/Division/Section goals.
Delegate and monitor work projects, evaluate and document performance, administers disciplinary actions and identify training needs.
Ensure staff are meeting mandated survey schedules and are following federal, state and Section guidelines, processes, and procedures.
Assist with developing strategic plans and goals.
To conduct standard surveys and complaint investigations, in accordance with State Licensure and/or Federal Certification guidelines, for the following programs: Acute Hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, Psychiatric Hospitals, Abortion Clinics, Cardiac Rehabilitation Centers, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, ESRD, Clinical Laboratories, and In-Home services.
Providing technical assistance and interpreting regulations to staff on survey.
Analyzing survey findings and determining compliance with applicable rules and statutes, then preparing deficiency reports documenting findings of non-compliance in a legally defensible manner, as well as reviewing staff reports.
Reviewing plans of correction submitted by providers to ensure plans meet established criteria.
Providing technical assistance and information to facilities, potential providers and the public on the licensure and certification process, requirements, and interpretations
This position is located on the beautiful Dorothea Dix Park, just outside of downtown Raleigh. The Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) provides for the health, safety and well-being of individuals through effective regulatory and remedial activities including appropriate consultation and training opportunities and by improving access to health care delivery systems through the rational allocation of needed facilities and services.
The Acute and Home Care Licensure and Certification Section ensures standards of care are provided for the health, safety and well-being of citizens receiving services in State licensed and Medicare/Medicaid facilities and agencies through effective regulatory oversight, consultation and training.

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of clinical experience in the area of specialization.
