Our dental practice in the Midtown area is looking for a Front Desk Associate! Job responsibilities include answering the phone, scheduling appointments and verifying insurance, treatment planning and answering any questions patients have while providing excellent customer service.

Experience:

- Dental office experience 2 years (Required)
- Reliably commute to work
- Excellent communication and strong customer service skills
- A minimum of two years’ experience required in a fast-paced dental office with PPO insurance (preferred)
- Experience with dental software Open Dental (preferred)
- Bi-Lingual (Spanish) (preferred)
- Collections experience (preferred)
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent computer skills
- Comfortable in high- volume environment

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Reception:
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the dental office.
- Abide by check in/ check out protocols as instructed by management
- Assist patients with check-in procedures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Manage patient appointments, schedule adjustments, and cancellations.
- Collect outstanding balances and appointment fees.
- Appointment Coordination:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, optimizing the dental office's schedule for efficiency.
- Coordinate with dental hygienists and practitioners to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Communicate any schedule changes to management and practitioners
- Handle appointment reminders and follow-up calls as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Address patient inquiries in person, over the phone, via text, and via email with professionalism and courtesy.
- Provide information about dental services, insurance coverage, and appointment procedures.
- Resolve patient concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy workstation and waiting area
- Aid in watering plants and maintaining watering schedule
- Create effective marketing strategies to attract new patients
- Ensure tv in waiting room area is playing effective marketing material or updates as instructed by management
Administrative Support:
- Maintain and update patient records in the office management system.
- Process patient paperwork, insurance forms, and billing information accurately.
- Confirm all necessary consent forms are signed when patients arrives.
- Update medical history with recurring patients
- Manage office supplies and keep the front desk area organized.
- Insurance Verification:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage details.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve any discrepancies.
Payment Processing:
- Collect and process patient payments for services rendered.
- Provide financial information to patients regarding treatment costs and payment options.
- Reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare reports as required.
- Assist patients with signing up for payment plants, such as through CareCredit or Sunbit
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Implement infection control procedures and maintain a clean and hygienic front desk area.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with dental staff to facilitate effective communication and patient care.
- Submit inventory requests to management as needed
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Completing the End of Day checklist
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years in a dental or healthcare field
- Experience in dental or medical field with scheduling and verifying insurance preferred
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, dental software, and ability to learn new programs

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
