The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) is seeking an experienced Director of Social Media to lead the strategy and development of social content that will support our programming priorities and drive revenue. The team leader will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment where we are eager to test and learn while growing our business.
The Director of Social Media has experience managing social media teams, deploying brand integrations, and has developed a community of passionate sports fans across social platforms. The ideal candidate has an expertise of social platforms and deploys unique content strategies across the different platforms. Success in this role will require a deep knowledge of the analytics each platform offers and can translate them into measurement, goals, and forecasts.
Excelling in this role requires a knowledge of what is trending/current on social platforms, an aptitude for developing insights-driven global strategies, a deep and current knowledge of each platform's offerings, how to best utilize influencers, a keen eye for compelling and innovative content and creative and excellent project management skills. They will work with and on key social media and digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Reddit and Snapchat as well as seek out emerging platforms that can help grow our fan base and brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Partner closely with the digital content team to create high-impact, conversation-driving social media campaigns in support of programming and commercial initiatives

Manage strategy and creative execution for vertical video programming on TikTok and Instagram Reels.

Support team members in management and growth on CHSN editorial accounts

Leverage analytics in continuous data-backed decision-making to evolve social media campaign tactics

Partner with the broader production team on talent social training, on-set social capture, live social media event coverage, digital activations and paid media creative, influencer activations etc

Work closely with marketing to create high-impact moments around title debuts, announcements, press etc

Collaborate with brand partners to craft brand engagement and content strategy activations

Develop and execute impactful synergy and integrated marketing executions with strategic brand partners including the Bulls, Blackhawks, and White Sox

Foster and build excellent working relationships with talent and producers, including educating on social media best practices and building mutually beneficial content relationships
Partner with social platforms to identify new opportunities and develop innovative activations

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

8+ years of experience, with at least 5 years of social media marketing experience and 2+ years leading teams

Deep understanding of social platforms

Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

The Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) will launch in October across multiple platforms. The network will air more than 300 live Blackhawks, Bulls and White Sox games annually and include pre- and postgame coverage while showing multisport programming 24 hours a day. CHSN will broadcast from studios located in both Chicago's United Center and Guaranteed Rate Field. The network will start airing Blackhawks and Bulls preseason games in October, showing White Sox games beginning in 2025.
