The Supply Chain Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of materials and parts through the supply chain to meet production and assembly requirements. This role involves tracking part statuses, resolving supply chain issues, and ensuring timely delivery to avoid disruptions. The specialist will work closely with suppliers, engineers, and quality teams to maintain transparent communication and expedite processes as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parts and Material Management:
- Track the status of parts and raw materials, identifying and resolving any delays or issues.
- Ensure parts are shipped to the correct locations and monitor their transit status.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Expediting and Problem Resolution:
- Expedite critical parts and materials, applying pressure to meet demand schedules.
- Resolve issues with supplier commitments and raw material shortages.
- Handle risk releases and serial number approvals to keep parts moving through the supply chain.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Conduct regular meetings with suppliers and engineering teams to identify action items and ensure follow-through.
- Maintain detailed documentation of part statuses and supplier interactions.
- Coordinate with Product Quality Engineers (PQEs) and other stakeholders to address quality concerns and expedite processes.
- System Management:
- Utilize supply chain management systems (e.g., Impact, e-NMS, Greencarpet) to track parts and manage workflows.
- Ensure all necessary approvals and documentation are in place for part releases and shipments.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and reduce lead times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management systems and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone, video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations
