What you will do:
The Patient Safety and Accreditation Coordinator is responsible for the primary oversight of the facility-wide patient safety program, accreditation and regulatory compliance. This leadership role directs others in the facility towards process improvements that will support the reduction of medical/health care events and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Develops mechanisms to integrate and coordinate the activities of all staff so that patient safety is a priority at Peterson Health. Oversees the management of the rL online event reporting system that includes medical error reporting, good catches, near misses, and adverse events. Investigates patient safety issues within the facility and serves as a resource for all departments on issues of patient safety. Leads and participates in a proactive risk reduction program and leads Root Cause Analysis to identify system or process failures. Participates in Process Improvement teams. Monitors ongoing standard requirements and educates staff to maintain survey readiness. Coordinates and leads system tracers in collaboration with other departments. Meets timelines required to maintain accreditation status. Identifies opportunities, establishes priorities and maintains the necessary records to meet compliance and certifications.
Required Education:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education:
BSN in Nursing
Required Skills:
Strong leadership qualities. Good assessment skills, computer skills, and interpersonal skills. Assists in hospital compliance and meeting regulatory demands. Collects, compiles, and reports data.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Excel
Required Licensure /Registration /Certification:
RN with current Texas license
Required Experience:
Minimum two years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in Accreditation Compliance and issues regarding patient safety, Accreditation or Quality Improvement experience
