The Town of Wellesley’s Facilities Management Department (FMD) has multiple full-time custodial positions open. Previous custodial experience is not required, but preferred.
Reporting to the Facility Supervisor and under the general supervision of the Custodial Service Manager and Facilities Director, the custodian performs all aspects of custodial services and operations for the department. The work of the Custodian includes, but is not limited to, routine/detail/project cleaning of all aspects of the buildings, minor maintenance work, on-call services, building security and emergency snow/ice response. The incumbent must be available for weekend, emergency and stand-by duties as required. Tasks are performed without close supervision, following established procedures, or with direct instructions on new and different assignments. The incumbent complies with policies pertaining to the Facilities Management Department. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have a valid MA Driver’s license and a High School diploma or GED.
The current opening is for our Public Library. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. The hourly rate of pay is $23.75 to $26.71, depending upon qualifications and experience.
