Ascendo Resources is actively seeking an Import Coordinator to join the team of our Logistics clients in Queens, NY. This position would be full-time and fully onsite. This position would be responsible for processing and coordinating daily logistics import activities. You would also be responsible for implementing production, productivity, quality, and achieve in the appropriate level of volume within time constraints.

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:00 pm
Responsibilities:

Review import documents for accuracy and completeness

Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments; Knowledge of 3461 and 7501 documentation necessary

Have a strong knowledge of US import entry process, rules, and compliance

Communicate with clients about import and Customs related issues

Troubleshoot import related Customs and other government agency delays

Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner

Prepare all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, etc.)

Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations

Develop and maintain successful relationships with local vendors (e.g. airline representatives, freight forwarders, custom brokers)

Communicate with customer, supply chain and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met

Collaborate with various on cross department activities promoting process optimization

Interfaces and assists other departments with process/compliance questions that may arise regarding import shipments
Qualifications:
-
High School completion or equivalent.

1+ years of direct US import entry process, rules, and compliance knowledge and expertise

Professional experience in customer service operations, preferentially in the international air freight, logistics or distribution

Preference for existing knowledge and experience of the pharmaceutical and clinical trial industry
