Director of Global Testing
Advanced Material Processing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Global Testing to lead and manage our global network of testing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, a deep understanding of testing methodologies and standards, and the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple locations. This role is critical to ensuring that our bulk material processing equipment is properly matched to the products being produced by our customers.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Provide Exceptional Customer Experience
- Develop and maintain world class test lab, processes, and standard work across all test facilities. Ensure the laboratories serve as customer showpieces, demonstrating our commitment as an organization to quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the global test laboratories team.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members to foster a high-performance, organized, and nimble culture.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the daily operations of all global test laboratories, ensuring efficient and effective testing processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve laboratory performance.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Apply Lean principles to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and optimize resource utilization. Set the example of a world-class Lean organization by implementing and adhering to best-in-class processes and standards.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain and enhance the test management system to ensure the highest standards of testing accuracy and reliability.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in testing methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory staff on complex testing issues.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the global test laboratories.
- Optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effective and efficient laboratory operations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate laboratory performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and professional associations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science); advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Lean principles and methodologies.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 25%.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to work from one of AMP’s testing facilities in a player coach role while providing direction for other sites.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in food, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical bulk material processing industries.
- Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 17025).
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Must be able to travel 50-75% to Monroe NC, Oskaloosa IA , Marion IA, Darwen UK Must be based near one of these locations and will travel to the others

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
