Vice President of Advancement (Fundraising)

SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Vice President of Advancement plans, develops and maintains a comprehensive private and public sector fundraising program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive Certificate (CFRE) preferred
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in supervisory capacity and/or fundraising experience
- Experience or Knowledge in full range of services (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing)
- Technology proficient Microsoft Office and database knowledge
- Must maintain information in a confidential manner at all times.
- Works with public, personnel and residents under all conditions.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Travels to Village Communities to meetings, events, luncheons, and seminars
- Expected to work beyond normal working hours when necessary
- Understanding of senior living
- Demonstrated success leading successful teams and creating a positive employee culture
- Ability to work with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to keep abreast of changes in nursing home field and fundraising
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list):
- In conjunction with President/Chief Executive Officer and other appropriate staff, establishes policies related to all fundraising and donor events.
- Leads and directs fundraising strategies and initiatives to support the organization’s goals and mission
- Creates, leads, and manages comprehensive development plan including annual fund, events, grant funded support, and major gifts, and planned giving program.
- Identifies and engages individual donors to meet fundraising goals. Maintains major gift and planned giving portfolio.
- Establishes effective relationships with residents and other key stakeholders through face-to-face solicitation and stewardship to provide support to programs and activities.
- Selects, trains, leads and manages continued growth and development of the Foundation team members.
- Provides oversight of written communications, appeals, and grant funded support which promotes and enhances fundraising efforts.
- Identifies, solicits, and stewards individuals, foundations, and corporate partners and sponsors to support organizational needs.
- Provides oversight of communication and activities to foster strong relationships to support and benefit the organization.
- Provide oversight of all communication, processes, and information to ensure ethical and accurate data entry, gift acknowledgement, and donor recognition.
- Oversees the activities of the Foundation to assure delivery of consistently high, quality work and conformance with all applicable regulations.
- Works closely with the Board of Directors to develop and manage their fundraising role.
- Attends all meetings in relation to the Foundation and Strategic initiatives.
- Attends company events during the day, night and weekends per the President/Chief Executive Officer.
- Promotes and ensures the highest standards of philanthropy.
- Maintains knowledge of the organization and the healthcare environment to represent the needs of the organization donors.
- Regularly monitors performance of department in corresponding to established salary and supply budgetary goals.
- Ensures that care and services are consistent with the Mission and Values of the organization
- Supports the philosophy of person centered care by actively participating in the person centered care process and demonstrates the company values.
- Other duties as assigned by the President/Chief Executive Officer or dictated by circumstances either eternal or external to meet goals and the mission of the organization.
