The Trajan Louisville team is seeking a Production Manager to work alongside our diverse team.
With years of experience, Chromatography Research Supplies (CRS), now a part of the Trajan family of brands. CRS is a leading manufacturer of electronic and manual crimping tools, gas filters, ferrules, injection port septa, and more recently, well plates and sealing mats. Our products are used in analytical laboratories and various other industries worldwide, where they are known for quality, ease of use and high levels of support.
Role Responsibilities:
- End to end responsibility encompassing all production product from raw materials through to finished goods.
- Management of production Work Orders (WO) including:
- Scheduling of staff and sequencing of production runs
- Effectively managing priority of customer orders
- Management of production critical documents such as:
- Procedures and/or Work Instructions
- Product specifications
- Management of production BOMs.
- Interface with other Corporate and Business Unit functions including:
- Engineering – Engineering changes (product and process)
- Customer Service – product delivery related information
- Planning – production routings and work orders
- Quality – internal/external audits, procedure updates and RCAs
- Marketing and Product Management – product changes
- Manage the manufacturing operations of a diverse product portfolio, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to quality standards across all product lines.
- Consistently meet production deadlines through strategic planning, effective resource allocation, and meticulous coordination of workflows to optimize efficiency and minimize lead times.
- Lead initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce lead times, and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by implementing lean manufacturing principles and leveraging data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinate closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth transition of new products from development to production, including the establishment of standardized procedures, testing protocols, and validation documentation.
- Facilitate the growth and skill enhancement of production leaders at Trajan Louisville through mentoring, coaching, and training initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in all production activities, including maintaining documentation, conducting internal and external audits, and facilitating root cause analyses (RCAs) to address quality issues.
- Oversee the effective utilization and maintenance of production facilities, equipment, and resources, identifying opportunities for upgrades or investments to enhance operational capabilities and capacity.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production management experience
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience
- Technical and/or business background preferred (engineering, science, technology, etc.)
- Expertise in managing the manufacturing operations of a diverse product portfolio, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to quality standards across all product lines.
- Consistently meeting and exceeding production deadlines through strategic planning, effective resource allocation, and meticulous coordination of workflows to optimize efficiency and minimize lead times.
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives to optimize production processes using lean manufacturing principles, particularly in environments with complex machinery.
- Experience managing projects related to process improvement and new product introduction, including coordinating cross-functional teams, setting timelines, and ensuring successful project execution.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in environments with complex machinery, including experience in mentoring, coaching, and training production staff to operate and maintain complex machinery effectively.
- Experience ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as ISO, and OSHA requirements.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams to transition new products from development to production, ensuring seamless integration of complex machinery with product design and development requirements.
- Experience overseeing the maintenance and utilization of production facilities, equipment, and resources in environments with complex machinery, with a focus on optimization.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance in environments, leveraging advancements in modern manufacturing technologies.
- Strong Communication skills – both written and verbal across all levels the organization
- Demonstrated success in mentoring, coaching and managing production teams
- Trained in lean manufacturing principles
