Suveto Area Operations Manager
Suveto has an exciting opportunity for an experienced multi-site Area Manager to partner with and support our thriving hospital group in Philadelphia, PA.
This role will directly support the local-level animal hospital leaders with the general day-to-day operations of their hospitals along with their short-term goals and long-term strategies. The Area Operations Manager position requires a hands-on approach and is expected to be in the field 4-5 days a week, which is critical for success. This individual will work directly with each veterinary practice to improve processes and profitability, identify and implement growth initiatives and work to strengthen culture and the overall patient/client experience. The ideal candidate will be required to live within the market and be able to support each site within the division.
The Area Operations Manager role will report to a Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Works with leadership at each hospital to support day-to-day operations and ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.
- In conjunction with hospital leadership and the Director of Operations, develops business strategies for each location and aids in their implementation.
- Creates action plans, sets and manages goals, delegate tasks, and tracks metrics relevant to each location.
- Reviews medical metrics and reports with the Medical Director and DVMs to ensure the highest quality of medicine within the hospital.
Team Management:
- Supervises and supports hospital managers and staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Successfully manages all aspects of people development including assisting with interviews, hiring, onboarding and terminations of hospital staff.
- Provides leadership, training, and guidance to ensure team development and satisfaction.
- Negotiates and mediates conflicts. Challenges and coaches managers in their function as leaders in the hospital.
- Develops professional and supportive relationships with associate DVM(s).
Financial Oversight:
- Analyzes and interprets operational reports and identifies areas for improvement.
- Drives financial success by managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and implementing cost-effective measures.
- Effectively manages P&L(s) including appropriate oversight of Cost of Goods and labor expenses.
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations to analyze financial data and implement strategies for profitability.
- Constructively communicates and delivers messages about financial progress and outcomes to multiple audiences.
- Successfully communicates hospital goals and objectives to all team members in a way that supports both agreed upon business outcomes and hospital culture.
Quality Assurance:
- Upholds and enhances the quality of veterinary services by implementing best practices and policies.
- Ensures compliance with industry regulations and Suveto standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment by managing and monitoring all OSHA guidelines, DEA compliance, and all local, state and federal laws (including both medical governance and employee labor guidelines
Client Satisfaction:
- Fosters excellent client relations by addressing concerns and improving client experience.
- Provides leadership to hospital teams regarding effective client scheduling and communication.
- Effectively use resources within the organization and opportunities outside of the organization to build relationships with the community and market the hospital to prospective clients.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Veterinary Management, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary operations or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record of successfully overseeing multiple locations.
- Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of veterinary industry regulations and trends.
- Ability to travel between hospital locations regularly

Requirements:
- 5-10 years of Veterinary experience.
- Previous experience in veterinary practice management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in inventory management software and scheduling tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
