We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tier 2 Technician with experience in federal environments to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. As a Tier 2 Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, resolving complex issues, and ensuring the seamless operation of our clients' IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 2 technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, escalating to Tier 3 support when necessary.
- Maintain and support Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as other software applications.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with Tier 1 support teams to identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Document all support activities and maintain accurate records in the ticketing system.
- Provide on-site and remote support to federal clients as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal IT security policies and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours support requests.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tier 2 Technician, preferably in a federal environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Cisco CCNA) are highly desirable.
- Experience with federal IT systems and knowledge of federal IT security requirements.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
