What you'll do: The Environmental Services team at Givens Estates, a nationally recognized nonprofit life plan community (continuing care retirement community), is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Supervisor. This position will oversee daily operations and manage team leaders with our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Floor care teams with guidance from the Environmental Services Director and Assistant Director. This is an exciting opportunity to channel your knowledge, skills, ambition, and experience in a meaningful way that directly impacts the lives of our residents and team members.
- Perform departmental orientation, training, and support for new hires and ensure that all new hire tasks are complete
- Coordinate and oversee assigned environmental services, floor care, and laundry duties in consultation with both the Director and Assistant Director
- Conduct random daily inspections of resident living areas
- Weekly inspect housekeeping areas to ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Assist Director and Assistant Director in all inspections and regulatory surveys
- Ensure completion and understanding of assigned training(s) for all direct reporting team members
- Make weekly resident satisfaction calls
- Assist in ordering, distributing, and monitoring inventory for environmental services supplies
- Assist the Assistant Director with daily scheduling of cleaning services
- Share in the responsibility for keeping equipment and storage areas clean and neat and report any equipment problems to the maintenance and Environmental Services Director promptly
- Share in the responsibility of daily cleaning duties to ensure coverage in all areas
- Ensure mailboxes and communication boards are checked daily and ensure that keys and tablets are returned before leaving
- Coordinate with other ES supervisory staff to ensure consistent campus-wide on-call supervision
- Assist Environmental Services Assistant Director in the completion of employee evaluations
- Be courteous and supportive with residents and team members to be able to solve problems and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
- Assist residents with preferences and approved special requests while remaining within the scope of position
- Wear proper personal protective equipment and follow the departmental policy of using only OSHA approved chemicals with SDS on file
What you'll need:
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Knowledge of general environmental services procedures
- Two years of previous experience in a related supervisory position is preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
- Technical or vocational training is desirable but not required
Hours & Availability: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00 based on your experience and skillset and includes our comprehensive benefits package.
