Full Charge Construction Bookkeeper/Accountant
Seeking a qualified Senior Accountant for a full-time position. Individual will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, which requires an ability to juggle several organizational tasks at once. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as handling in-house payroll, sales tax reporting, credit card statements and cash flow. Must possess strong knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition, as well as contractor Item List, Job Costing, and experience in handling change orders and credits. Relevant experience working in the construction industry a plus.
Duties Include:
Responsible for All Bookkeeping Functions
- Responsible for Payables
- Responsible for all accounts receivable
- New Job set up and closing in QuickBooks, as needed
- Responsible for banking transactions including reconciliations
- Prepare profit sharing to process thru payroll
- Administer payroll
Ensure Timely and Accurate Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Compile reconciliations analysis for Balance Sheet Items
- Prepare reports for owners and accountants
- Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations
- Cash Flow Reports — Actuals and Projected
- Check Budget vs Actuals and prepare variance analysis
Responsible for Tax Reporting
- Prepare and file sales tax reporting, quarterly reports, year-end reports
- Prepare and file appropriate payroll tax reports
Responsible for cash-flow management
- Provide construction lenders copies of contract document, specifications, cost breakdown plans
- Monitor status of construction loan approvals
- Communicate with customers/subs/banks to ensure draws take place timely
- Manage overall cash-flow for the company
Responsible for Liability Management
- Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place
- Maintain subcontractor and supplier insurance policies
Requirements:
- 5 years full-charge bookkeeping experience
- Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Construction cost accounting experience
- QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition experience
- Experience with MS Office applications, including Excel
- Knowledge in tracking & logging Arizona Lien Waivers
- Very detailed oriented, organized, able to work independently and meet stringent deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic, eager to learn and take on new challenges
