- The Medical Transcriptionist will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio recordings of patient assessments, therapy sessions, and other medical documentation into written format. This role is crucial in ensuring that patient records are maintained accurately and confidentially to support the continuity of care.
- RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
- Transcribe dictated recordings from mental health professionals into clear, accurate, and grammatically correct text.
- Edit and proofread transcriptions for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Ensure all medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatments are correctly documented.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and always adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with mental health providers to clarify any discrepancies in the transcriptions.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of all transcriptions and related documents.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing and data entry.

- MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, preferably in a mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially related to mental health.
- Excellent listening, typing, and grammar skills.
- Proficient in using transcription software and word processing programs.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
- Maintain and abides by OSHA requirements and guidelines.
