DEPARTMENT: Reservations
REPORTS TO: Reservations & Revenue Manager
COMPENSATION: Hourly wage starts at $25/hour, in addition to a service charge (bi-weekly revenue adding an average of $9/hour) & commission structure
JOB SUMMARY: Handling reservations accurately and promptly and ensure that Reservationists are properly trained to do their jobs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
o Train all Reservations staff.
o Supervise colleagues within the department to ensure that standards and policies of service are maintained.
o Ensure that all daily departmental reports and correspondence are completed on time and accurately and assist Reservations & Revenue Manager with other reports as needed.
o To assist the Reservations & Revenue Manager with organizing and carrying out departmental meetings at least once monthly in order to keep staff members informed and up to date with any issues that are necessary.
o Maximize room sales and revenue for the hotel, up-selling as the highest priorities.
o Assist in ensuring that all commissions are correct and follow up promptly.
o Handle wholesalers requests and bookings.
o Handle home bookings in conjunction with Homes Manager.
o Group Support for the Events Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing. Assisting with any reservations needs for the groups.
o Managing group blocks, including rooming lists and ensuring that deposits are up to date and followed up if not received.
o Assist Manager on Duty if needed.
o Assist DOSM and Marketing Manager with the development of all resort collateral including Amangani website, fact sheet and brochure material.
o Ensure that sales and marketing strategies focus on niche travel partners and tourism organizations, Amanjunkies, weddings, groups and buyouts, corporate opportunities, and cultural organizations.
o Assist in the creation of special events, deals, promotions, etc.
o Performing other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS:
o Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
o Requires advanced computer proficiency.
o Must be able to work independently as well as in a group setting.
o Must be able to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
o Professional conduct at all times including punctuality.
