University Instructors (UI) is seeking a dynamic Data Scientist (B) with a passion for using data analytics to support academic growth and achievement of K-12 students. The Data Scientist is responsible for ensuring strong systems are in place for the implementation and use of Tutor Ed Track. Data Scientist (B) will work closely with the PCG Tutor Ed Track development team and the UI Systems team to build out and continue to implement the software platform.

Responsibilities:
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
1. Assist with the development of software in a multi-programming language environment
2. Assist with the design and development of products leveraging cloud platform (Azure) with a focus on time-to-market and scalability
3. Provide regular updates to the Manager of Data Services on progress of key milestones and deliverables, risks, issues, and mitigation
4. Adapt quickly and positively to a constantly changing environment with tight timelines
5. Assist in program design, coding, code review, benchmark testing, and debugging
6. Assist with the coding for new product features maintaining existing products and supporting our customers
7. Join a team operating across different time-zones
8. Rapidly design, implement, test, and deploy applications capable of tackling complex analytical tasks using large datasets
9. Fix or enhance features on preexisting applications
10. Communicate with application users to enhance or troubleshoot applications
11. Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Data Services
Knowledge and Skills
We are looking for someone who possesses:

An in-depth understanding of developing software for K-12 students and teachers

Effective oral and written communication skills

Good time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting, as necessary.

Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for advocating for and helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to:

Hold a bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Minimum of 2 years’ experience with database management and analytics

Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing software in a multi-programming language environment for cloud-based application
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience implementing new software in K-12 environment
Compensation:
$45-$50/hour
