Summary:
An Excavating/Repair Foreman is a professional who oversees and manages the work of excavating crews. They are responsible for completing documents, conducting safety meetings, and preparing sites. An Excavation/Repair foreman monitors compliance with safety guidelines and policies and completes required paperwork. They lead a variety of workers, including hydro excavation truck, and dump truck drivers. They also evaluate construction documents and specifications, and lay out for excavations, repair of sewer line, checking for any AOC with gas line. An Excavation/Repair foreman also is in charge of maintaining effective schedule and cost control during the entire excavation effort. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- A commercial driver's license (CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement) is preferred, but not required
- At least 21 years of age with a clean MVR record and must pass a preemployment background screening, DOT physical and DOT drug screen.
- Some knowledge of plumbing a plus
- Excavation competent person card preferred but not required
- Ability to work any hours required by customer(s)
- Ability to work safely in strenuous conditions (busy highways, time sensitive projects, etc.)
- Willing to abide by all safety procedures and policies, including wearing required PPE for your safety.
- Willing to travel if needed
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with field supervisor what excavations are to be completed for the week.
- Coordinate with Hydro Excavation Operator excavation on different areas start times, expectations of excavation, safety, and clean up.
- Complete all necessary reports and paperwork
- Ensure all material is accounted for on daily reporting
- Proactively communicate with superintendents for material ordering
- Ensure all safety and operational standards and requirements are met and/or exceeded
