About our College and Office:
Our college houses 5 academic departments; Criminal Justice & Criminology, Economics, Public Management & Policy, School of Social Work and Urban Studies Institute. Our college is home to approximately 2100 students in 7 undergraduate programs, 15 graduate programs and 7 minors.
The Office of Academic Assistance is a team of 7 staff members which reports to the Dean’s Office.
- We advise undergraduate seniors (approximately 650 students) in our programs.
- We serve as graduate admissions office for the College, processing approximately 1200 applications a year. We provide admissions, onboarding, yield and policy assistance to our graduate student population and academic units.
- We advise new and current students (approximately 500 students).
- We also provide a multitude of administrative services to the student, faculty, and staff body of the College including graduation clearance, scheduling, and policy consultation.
About the Position:
The Office of Academic Assistance (OAA) seeks to hire a proficient, adaptable and self-reliant candidate to fill the position of Admissions Coordinator II. The scope of responsibility will include these specific duties but is not limited to the following:
This position will:
- Process and track all graduate admissions applications to the Andrew Young School including re-entry and deferrals.
- Download applications, transcripts and recommendation letters from relevant online application platform(s) and customer service management platforms(s).
- Review all domestic and international applications and materials for completeness.
- Communicate with applicants on the status of their application. Update the online application platforms (CRM and other) and ensure Banner data entry is correct.
- Advise applicants on admission requirements and policies. Evaluate educational credentials, calculate GPA’s and coordinate decision notification to applicants.
- Monitor quality and accuracy of scans and upload of documents of online applications.
- Monitor admission inquiries and communications related to enrollment and yield of newly admitted students and respond appropriately.
- Coordinate AYS annual graduate application updates. Maintain and initiate admission checklists, email communications and special admission outreach efforts.
- Coordinate review and update of College admissions webpage under the supervision of Assistant Director
- Provide training to staff, student assistants and faculty on CRM(s), online application platforms(s) and graduate admission procedures.
- Process and file all cross- registration applications for prospective students and current joint students.
- Compile data and prepare various admission reports.
- Will participate in the recruitment, admissions, advertisement, and event related to graduate admissions.
- Serve on College and University level committees regarding graduate admissions and program administration as needed.
- Interact with faculty, staff and students related to job duties and office services.
- Provide assistance with advising duties (processing forms, Degreeworks evaluation adjustments, EAB/Navigate processing, etc.) as needed during peak advising and yield times.
