Senior Tax Account
Summary
The Senior Tax Accountant performs complex tax preparation (individual and business), tax research and tax planning under manager/supervisor supervision; Provides work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff; Contacts clients to resolve minor tax matters; Performs tax planning under direct supervision; may be assigned other responsibilities. Also will have monthly client bookkeeping responsibilities and project support as required.

Technical Ability
1. Displays technical proficiency in tax preparation and assembly of related documentation.
2. Demonstrates a working knowledge of tax law including the ability to perform tax.
3. Prepares federal, state and local tax returns.
4. Prepares more difficult quarterly estimated tax and extension payments and corresponding vouchers.
5. Interfaces with taxing authorities and assists with gathering the information for federal, state and local tax audits.
6. Ensures that work papers and tax returns are prepared in accordance with firm standards.
7. Displays the ability to independently identify problem areas early, research technical issues, and proactively resolve issues.
8. Proficient in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and use of internet resources.
9. Experience with QuickBooks.
Experience and Education
1. Bachelor’s Degree in the field of account – a Master’s Degree preferred
2. A current CPA license is preferred
3. Generally, a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a staff accountant and senior staff accounting in the public accounting field.
**Occasional overtime required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work required from February 1 to
April 15, and September 1 to October 15 that may be in excess of 55 hours per week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
