As a key member of the manufacturing operations team, the CI Engineer is responsible for leading and working with cross-functional teams to rapidly deliver product yield improvements across all manufacturing processes.
This hands-on position will entail all aspects of process engineering and Lean Manufacturing in order to increase product yield. The position is also key to provide process improvement support in production delivery, quality, productivity, and other continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
The individual must deliver tangible improvements across the following spectrum:
Safety
- Safety must be paramount to any change in processes
Quality
- Root Cause Corrective Action to improve product yield and quality
- Advocate and generate procedures and instructions to standardize process improvements
- Produce SPC and KPIs to monitor and analyze trends in yield as it relates to process and product quality
Delivery
- Increase product yield
- Implement methods of waste reduction
- Improve refractory performance
- Improve of mold performance
- Reduce of scrap rates
Cost
- Increase product yield and productivity across all elements of the business
Leadership & accountability
- Personal ownership and delivery of improvement projects
- Strong team player and facilitator of 5S/6S and SMED/Kaizen activities
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Excellent personal motivation and multi-tasking ability
- Positive and proactive approach, root cause and DMAIC-focus

Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading Continuous Improvement programs and projects
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Technical skills in Lean Manufacturing tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be self-motivated with good organizational skills requiring little supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access)
- Proficient in Solidworks or AutoCAD
