Ecological Landscape Field Manager
Parterre Ecological integrates principles of ecology and horticulture to protect, promote and restore native plant communities.
Parterre Ecological is dedicated to the planning, implementation, and maintenance of a wide range of ecological restoration projects in greater Boston. This includes invasive plant management and native restoration planting on conservation lands, urban green infrastructure sites, and numerous residential properties. We seek to restore wetland, woodland, wildflower meadow, coastal bank, and other natural areas. Projects are in all phases of development; from Ecological planning, restoration, installation, maintenance and monitoring.
Parterre Ecological is currently seeking a Field Manager to join its growing team. The Field Manager is responsible for managing the intersection of client relationships, and field-based projects. The main responsibilities of the Field Manager will be to oversee an existing client list, assist with new sales leads, and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly administrative responsibilities are completed. The Field Manager is responsible for applying a high level of expertise to restoration projects and teaching best management practices to Crew Lead and Field Technicians. The Field Manager maintains a high level of communication with individual Crew Lead and Field Technician team, with an emphasis on leading by example.
Responsibilities:

Lead all aspects of daily field-based work by communicating project scope to clients and the crew, implementing best management practices for implementation, and ensuring safe working conditions on project sites

Schedule regular site visits to properties, review restoration requirements (invasive management, native restoration planting, maintenance and monitoring needs)

Communicate restoration requirements and ideas to clients

Write proposals for existing client base, and new sales calls as required

Attend weekly Production Meetings, schedule projects, and write weekly road map to keep Ecological team productive in field

Review monthly invoicing, allocate and complete time and material tickets

Lead in mentoring and field training of employees
Qualifications:

3+ years of relevant supervisory positions with demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire staff

A degree in Landscape Design, Environmental Sciences, or related field experience

Demonstrated relationship-building, team management, and planning skills

Knowledge of invasive and native plants species of New England, with experience in specific management and restoration techniques

Experience estimating, developing and presenting proposals, and maintaining budgets

Creative, self-directed, with time management and planning skills

Hoisting License and experience with equipment use preferred (mini- ex, bobcat, dingo, chainsaw) with maintenance oversight

Hold valid driver’s license

Ability to acquire Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License in first 60 days of employment
About the position:
The Field Manager position with Parterre Ecological is a seasonal full-time position (typically February - December). In addition to a competitive salary, the position offers a quarterly Open Book program earning additional pay, ten (10) days of earned sick leave and four (4) paid holidays, plus one (1) paid company summer outing. Location(s):
Main office in Billerica. Project locations are around greater Boston, with occasional trips to Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and southern Maine.
Job Type: Seasonally full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
