The Paramedic must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to manage and/or assisting in the care. The Paramedic will function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) at all times. Assists in patient care by obtaining data and providing care, which meets the department policies, procedures and standards of care. The paramedic works as an adjunct to the nursing staff. Performs duties as assigned. The paramedic assists the RN to make assessments by collecting data and observations, which are reported to the supervising registered nurse. Functions within the identified scope of practice, and HIPPA regulations. Accountable for participation in performance improvement activities, infection control practices and safety measures
