New WorldPrep is expanding its fine arts programs by hiring additional teachers who have a background in either Art, Music, Chorus and/or Theater. The teacher is responsible to supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas, developing lesson plans and delivering instruction within curriculum guidelines. Teacher will prepare daily lesson plans and instruct students in hours classes
New World Preparatory Charter must understands and promotes the school’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies both within and outside the immediate school community. The Fine Art teacher is responsible for providing a classroom/instructional program that supports the individual needs of all children in accordance with the school’s mission and values established by the school.
Fine Art Teacher (Art/Theater/Music/Chorus) Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Build a classroom culture in which students develop a genuine passion for either music, art, theater, and or chorus..
- Maintain effective supervision and classroom management in the classroom and on campus.
- Set clear short-term and long-term goals to drive instruction.
- Develop lesson plans based on NYS standards.
- Consistently administer assessments to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue meaningful reports to inform parents of progress.
- Attend faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings, and serve on committees as required.
- Create and implement student intervention plans when necessary for students with special education program and general education students.
- Maintain the school's student management policies and procedures (i.e., attendance records, dress code, etc.) and report to the school administrators when necessary.
- Work with other teachers and administrators to address and resolve student issues.
- Provide necessary accommodations and modifications for growth and success of all students
- Lead and participate in student activities such as: sponsoring student activities or student organizations, coaching a sports team, working with parents and the community as part of a committee or group, provide morning or after school supervision, and chaperoning student events.
- Special projects and duties outside of primary teaching responsibility as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in field
- Valid New York State K-6 certification with a talent for one of the fine arts focus.
- Excellent collaborative and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and function in a high-energy environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
