LCG has a new and exciting opportunity caring for the homeless population in Boston! We are searching for PAs interested in a 3+ month contract with Boston HealthCare for the Homeless Program at the McInnis House, a sub-acute care facility for the unhoused in Boston. This patient demographic includes a variety of short term healthcare needs that cannot be managed in a shelter setting.

Rate: $90 / hour
Hours/Shifts Full-time; weekdays and weekends; 10 hour shifts. 8am-6pm (hours flexible if close to that time period.)

Summary of Position:
This position will provide comprehensive, high-quality recuperative/primary care at their nationally recognized respite program. Patients in respite are generally too sick for shelter but do not need hospital level care and you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team (behavioral health, case management and nursing) addressing the short-term clinical needs of your patients.
We are looking for a dynamic, patient-centered, proactive, and energetic physician assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and have the ability to lead a care team in collaboration with MD/DO colleagues and NP/PA peers.
Primary Duties:
- Provides comprehensive, high quality episodic and/or recuperative care at our respite program; staffed by Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.
- Elicit an appropriate history, perform physical examinations, order diagnostic studies, interpret results and initiate therapy in accordance with the Guidelines for Physician Assistant of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program.
- Refer patients as appropriate to medical specialists, hospital admission, recuperative care, and detox facilities, providing appropriate information for continuity of care.
- Participate in collaborative relationship with BHCHP physician according to the Regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Provide education to patients on health promotion and disease treatment and prevention.
- Work as part of multi-disciplinary team in caring for patients.
Professional Development:
- Maintains and enhances professional knowledge by attending CME conferences, educational programs and seminars according to licensure requirements and to maintain the highest level of clinical competence.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain adequate, up-to-date medical records, completed in a timely manner, according to the guidelines of BHCHP, employing standard forms such as problem lists, medication lists, etc.
- Maintain active DPH, DEA, and professional license, hospital privileges, managed care credentialing and CPR training.
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed to meet program needs, at the discretion of the Associate Medical Director or Medical Director of Respite Programs.

Experience and Education:
- Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Registered or eligible to be registered with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
- Life support training certification (e.g. CPR, BLS, ACLS) from a course that includes a hands-on, in-person component.
- Bilingual proficiency preferred.
- Experience in working with underserved populations, mentally ill, homeless and/or persons with substance use disorders preferred.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry 5 pounds on a regular basis.

- Ability to take a patient history, do an appropriate physical exam, synthesize often complex information, diagnose and formulate and communicate a treatment plan.
- Able to travel to different sites.
